6B: English, Thursday 24th September

Hi 6B- here are the notes and the link to the Kahoot from today…

We remembered the PRESENT SIMPLE form today:

We use the present simple for HABITS, ROUTINES and GENERAL TRUTHS.

With I / You / We / They

Examples:

I play basketball.

You play basketball.

We like basketball.

They play basketball on Saturday.

When we talk about the subjects I, YOU (singular and plural), WE and THEY (They can also be 2 or more names, like this: Elena and David = They), we don’t change the verb. It is in the same form as we find it in the dictionary.

With he / David , she / Elena , it / The dog

Examples:

He / David plays basketball on Saturday.

She / Elena plays basketball.

It / The dog plays basketball.

Remember!

Use the sneaky ‘s’ on the end of the verb when we talk about he/she/it

To make the question form:

Examples:

For I / You / We / They:

Do (I / you / we / they) play basketball?

Yes, (I / you / we / they) do.

No, (I / you / we / they) don’t.

For He / She / It:

Does (he / she / it) play basketball?

Yes, (he / she / it) does.

No, (he / she / it) doesn’t.

To make a question in PRESENT SIMPLE, the verb (action word) does NOT change! Only the ‘helping verb’ DO changes.

Don’t forget to use YOUR NAME to play Kahoot at home!

The Kahoot ends on Tuesday 29th September at 23:00. Good luck!
